Course Description  - Mega-ways

Course Offerings:    Mega-Ways to Develop Executive Function Skills

CEU 10 hours (Sat/Sun) or CEU 14 hours (Fri/Sat/Sun):   Learning Time, Inc., CAMFT # 141644 and Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board #395

Learning Objectives:
When working with a client (children, youth, and/or adult) with executive function disability, participants will:
1.  Assess  the executive function  skills which the client is using effectively.
2.  Identify  the executive function  skills which the client is missing that impact on his/her effective functioning in school, work, or life situations.
3.  Use language including a.) direct instruction, b.) cueing, and c.) prompting dialogue to engage the client in developing executive function skills.
4. Choose age and skill level appropriate Mega-Ways therapeutic interventions to assist the client in activating executive function skills including: breathing exercises, relaxation exercises, cognitive tasks, and exercises that promote executive function skill development.

Who Should Attend: This course is important to professionals who work with children, youth and adults who experience or may experience ADHD or executive function disabilities.

Course Schedule:   Reception will begin at 8:30 A.M.   Instruction will start at 9:00 on Saturday and Sunday.   Lunch will be provided on Saturday at 12:15.  Instruction will resume at 1:00 until 4:15.  A snack will be provided on Sunday at 12:00 and instruction will conclude at 1:30.
At 1:30 the completed course evaluations may be handed in and the participant will receive a certificate of attendance.   Participants will want to retain their confirmation of attendance for verification of continuing education with the licensing board.

Your Instructor:   Joan M. Smith, Ed.D., nationally published educator will be your instructor.   She is the author of You Donít Have to Be Dyslexic,  Learning Victories,   7 Brain Rules for Learning, and the new Mega-Ways to develop Executive Function Skills.

Course Fees:   For 10 hour, Sat/Sun Course:   $300.00 for individual enrollment, and $275.00 group pre-registration rate for each person.  Includes course handouts, snacks, and Saturday lunch.
For 14 hour, Fri/Sat/Sun Course: $375.00 for individual enrollment, and $350.00 group pre-registration rate for each person.  Includes course handouts, snacks, and Saturday lunch.


Refund/ Cancellation Process: A participant may cancel participation up to 7 days prior to the course offering with a full refund of fees, provided notice is received by phone, e-mail, or written request.   A participant may cancel participation up to the start of the course with expectation of a 50% refund or application to a currently scheduled class.  A participant who leaves the course prior to completion does not receive credits nor refund.   Refunds will be paid within thirty days of the date at which the refund request was received.   Course materials provided before the course, must be returned in original condition and packaging unopened in order to receive a refund.

Accommodations for special needs:   Snacks and lunch may be provided and advisory of special dietary /allergens is appreciated at the time of enrollment to accommodate special needs.

Learning Time, accommodates participants with special needs.  Please advise at the time of enrollment or at two weeks prior to the course if any special seating, physical barriers (stairs), placement in the room, or adaption for other needs are needed. We welcome and  accommodate an assistant accompanying a participant who provides he /she with sign language or assistance for visual impairment. 

This course meets the qualifications for 10 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.    Learning Time, Inc. Is approved by the California Associateion of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LFMTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs.  Learning Time, Inc. Maintains responsiblity for this program/course and its content. 

This course meets the qualifications for 10 hours of continuing education credit for Speech and Language Pathologists.  Learning Time is approved by the California Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.

Please  use GPS guidance only until turning from Highway 68 onto Corral de Tierra.   After your turn, use the following instructions: Travel 1.5 miles on Corral to Markham Ranch.  Enter the circle drive and put in gate code (all 5 symbols): #0821.  Enter gate onto Castleridge Road.  Continue on Castleridge to the stop sign.   At the stop sign, in front of you on the hillside is Castle Rock.  On driverís left on top of hill is your destination.  Travel through the stop sign about 100 feet (note yellow fire-hydrant as marker on road) turn left onto Roland Canyon.  Travel about 75 feet (again note yellow fire-hydrant as marker), turn left and travel up the hillside to front of parking area.  For assistance, call 831-484-0994.
